My wife won’t call the HVAC company – contamination concerns

I know that everybody is worried right now, but people are being extremely unreasonable.

I think that a lot of this paranoia has seeped too deeply into people’s consciousness, and now they’re being a little bit batty.

This goes for people on both sides of the pandemic debate – the deniers and the believers. Personally, these radical opinions weren’t affecting me too much… Until they came into my home and messed with my indoor air quality. You see, for the past month I’ve still been reporting into work but my wife has been staying at home all day. This means she has been watching the news 24/7. The other day when I returned home, I noticed within two steps that the indoor air temperature was not right. We always have had the same thermostat programming for our air temperature control devices, and I knew that it wasn’t 70 degrees inside. When I asked my wife what was going on with the thermostat, she replied that the air conditioning system had broken down. It looked like we were going to spend the next few months without any cooling system in our house. I asked why she had that opinion, and opened my phone to call the HVAC technician from our favorite heating and cooling company, when she absolutely freaked out. My wife insists that we can’t call an HVAC worker for help, because they might have the Coronavirus. I understand that she’s concerned, but we can’t live without indoor air temperature control all summer. The longer we wait, the more difficult it will be to arrange a professional repair appointment. Besides, the air conditioning system is located outside.
